The mission of the Atmospheric Physics Branch (SGP) is to advance the
scientific knowledge
and understanding of physical processes that determine the behavior of
the atmosphere on
Earth and other solar system bodies. We conduct experimental and theorectical
research in the areas of aerosol
and high resolution infrared spectroscopy with the main focus on current
environmental
and climatic issues. By utilizing leading-edge and information techmolgies,
we have developed
world-class instrumentation, and research techniques to implement our
research goals.
The branch is organized into four research groups to effectively respond to the
research goals of the NASA Strategic Entreprises and the roles and missions of the Ames Research Center.
