SGG researchers at the EOS Aura Science Team Meeting.
Researchers from the Atmospheric Science Branch (SGG) are participating in the EOS Aura Science Team Meeting being held in Pasadena, California, Oct. 1-5. They are Robert Chatfield, John Livingston (SRI), Leonhard Pfister, Henry Selkirk (BAERI), Hanwant Singh, and Anthony Strawa. Livingston, Pfister, and Selkirk are giving oral presentations and Chatfield is presenting his results on a poster. Titles are as follows:

Lenny Pfister (SGG) was interviewed by Wayne Freedman from KGO-TV on September 27, 2007 relating to NASA’s release of images of unprecedented amount of ice melting in the Arctic Ocean. SG personnel participate in CAUAS Symposium.
Steve Hipskind (Chief), Matt Fladeland, Max Loewenstein, and Susan Schoenung and Steve Wegener (BAER Institute) participated in the Civilian Applications of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (CAUAS) Symposium in Boulder, Colorado, Oct. 1-3. The purpose of the symposium is to develop an integrated vision of future UAS use in the United States incorporating input from agencies, academia and industry. Hipskind is a member of the Steering Committee of CAUAS. Fladeland gave a talk on “Open design for small UAS’s.” Susan Schoenung gave a presentation on payload development for HALE and MALE, as well. Anthony Strawa presents work on particulate emmisions.
Tony Strawa (SGG) attended the 2007 European Aerosol Conference in Salzburg, Austria, Sept. 11, where he gave a talk entitled: "Measurement of the Optical and Physical Properties of On-Road Vehicle Particulate Emissions". While there, he attended a meeting of the editorial board for the Journal of Aerosol Science. Later in the month (Sept. 25), Strawa attended the American Association of Aerosol Science 26th Annual Meeting in Reno, Nevada.
