Table 1. The locations, instrument numbers and dates of operation of the TARFOX AERONET network. Dates appear graphically in Fig. 1. At Wallops, #36 and #74 operated simultaneously during July while instrument #4 replaced #36 on 15 August. #36 was located at the main island site. #74 operated from the Lidar trailer approximately 3 km inland. The Hog Island instrument was moved to Cheritan because of hurricane Bertha and remained there the rest of the summer. Dates of operation do not guarantee good data collection. Clouds and other obstructions may interfere with sun or sky measurements. Calibration is still preliminary (13 Sept. 1996).
