The Land Remote Sensing Policy Act of 1992 (Public Law 102-555) authorized the Landsat Advisory Process (LAP) and established its four objectives:

Provide information to the Landsat data user community on the current status of, and future plans for, the Landsat Program;
Receive from the community comments and recommendations;
Respond to user comments as required;
Summarize user input and responses from the Landsat Program Management in biennial reports to Congress.

The LAP is administered by Landsat Program Management (LPM). The information in this folder is one way LPM is communicating with the Landsat data user community. Questions, comments, and recommendations on the information contained herein, or on any other aspect of the program, are encouraged.

The LPM has developed an interactive Landsat Questionnaire for users of the Landsat system. Responses from the questionnaire will be tallied by LPM and used in reports to congress on the program. The information is also used in the design of the follow-on to Landsat 7.
