Use of Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems in Health
Care Planning in Nigeria
Under the auspices of the Third World Foundation
(TWF)
of North America and a grant from NASA scientists from developing countries
are trained in the application of remote sensing and geographic information
systems (RS/GIS) to disease control programs. Cooperative projects have been
developed by the Institute of Space Medicine and Terrestrial Science,
Chidicon Medical Center in
Nigeria.

in the Prevention of Water-borne Disease Outbreaks in Nigeria
An ongoing RS/GIS for prevention of water-borne diesease in Nigeria. To be
utilized for rational location of water supply facilities in different
regions of the country.
