On 21 September 2001, the Orbview-4 satellite failed to achieve orbit following launch from Vandenberg AFB. Orbview-3 was launched by Orbimage on 26 June 2003. Orbview-3 it has a polar, circular, sun-synchronous 470-km orbit and the panchromatic and multispectral sensors have a swath width of 8 km.
