Infectious agent: Schistosoma spp. (blood flukes)

Transmission: Human contact in water with Schistosoma larvae, which develop in snails; snail populations affected by water impoundments associated with dams, reservoirs, canals, agricultural activities

Reservoir: Humans, domestic animals, rodents
