The Earth Sciences Directorate located at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, in Greenbelt, Maryland, USA is a national resource for discovery in Earth science and related technology development. The scientific efforts of the Directorate involve research, development, and application of advanced space technologies to develop better knowledge of the distribution and characteristics of Earth's natural resources and how they are changing; and to develop a better understanding of the processes affecting global change.
This community portal is your gateway to a wealth of information and knowledge that results from the performance of Earth science research at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. The World Wide Web is one of the fastest and most powerful tools of communication available today and if you are looking for information on what's happening in the Earth Sciences you've come to the right place!

Explore our web sites to see what's happening in our organizations such as: the Earth Observing System Project Science Office, Global Change Data Center, Laboratory for Terrestrial Physics, Earth and Space Data Computing Division, Goddard Institute for Space Studies, and Laboratory for Hydrospheric Processes.

Browse our large collection of Earth Science web sites or NASA-approved education web sites for students and teachers. You can also browse our large collection of disaster web sites and NASA and partner sites that provide access to current and archived Earth science data generated from our science missions.

Lastly, if your looking for Earth imagery, we've got that too! For starters, check out the Earth Science Picture of the Day, the Earth Observatory's Image of the Day or Visible Earth.

Meet the scientists, engineers and investigators that make the Earth Sciences Directorate an international Center of Excellence for research in Earth Science and technology. Learn who's who in Earth Science and how to contact them.
