Layer / Legend Panel


The Layer / Legend Panel serves two purposes. First, this panel contains the Layer panel which is used to access and display individual layers. Secondly, this panel can be toggled to the Legend View using the Legend / Layer Toggle Tool located in the toolbar panel.

Map Window


The Map Window is the central display portion of the Invasive Species Viewer. The tools located in the toolbar panel allow the user to interact with the Map Window. Only the top most visible layers in the Layer / Legend Panel will be visible in the Map Window. If the Map Window fails to load use the Reload Viewer tool located in the toolbar panel. Note: After making selections, conducting queries, selecting buffers, and refreshing map layers please wait until the Map Window is completely loaded.

Text Panel


The text panel serves two purposes. First, it serves as the general location for user inputs such as; queries, selection, printing, and buffer parameters. Secondly, it serves as an output display for text based data tables from queries, selections, and buffers. Tutorial #1 introduces many of these features and demonstrates the capablities of the text panel.

Overview Map


The Overview Map provides a small scale rendering of the full extent map view. This window indicates the portion of the map that a user is zoomed into. A user can also click on regions of the Overview Map to jump to those regions at the same zoom level.
