
7 September 2007 - Third Mission of Western States UAV Fire Imaging Mission Series The third mission will occur on 7-8 September 2007 with a UAV launch from NASA-Dryden Flight Research Center at a planned time of between 12:00 noon and 4:00
PM PDT on Sept 7th. The mission should be flown at ~25,000 feet altitude in the National Airspace (NAS). The flight profile for the mission focused on fires in Cal
ifornia, Oregon, and Washington, north to within 50-miles of the Canada / US border. The fires supported included the Butler (CA), North Fire (CA), Grouse Fire (C
A), Zaca Fire (CA), Middle T Fire (CA), GW Fire (OR), Big Basin Complex (OR), South Omak Lake (WA), and the Domke Lake Complex (WA). The route then returned along
the outgoing path over the same fires. Mission endurance expected was ~16.5 hours, with the Ikhana landing at ~6:00 to 8:00 AM on 8 September 2007 at NASA-DFRC.
The mission data sets can be viewed in their entirety through the Collaborative Decision Environment (CDE), using the GoogleEarth visualization client. Du
