Global pollution, atmospheric chemistry, and trace gas
measurements
Applications are invited for a post-doctoral position in the area of atmospheric composition and chemistry at NASA-Ames Research Center in Moffett Field, CA. Our long-term research goal is to better understand the fate of gases and aerosols in the troposphere via airborne observations, satellite data analysis, and models. A key sub-objective is to investigate the chemistry and transport of oxygenated organic chemicals, PANs, nitriles, and selected tracers in the atmosphere via experimental and theoretical investigations. Existing instruments are to be further refined and improved. Participation in airborne missions aimed at understanding the transport and transformation of pollutants is expected. More details can be found at (http://geo.arc.nasa.gov/sgg/singh/; http://cloud1.arc.nasa.gov/intex-b/). The position will be under the NASA Postdoctoral Program (NPP) (formerly the National Research Council Associate Program).
Position Requirements:
- PhD in the physical sciences, preferable Atmospheric Sciences or chemistry.
- Experience working with trace gas measurements.
- Ability to work as a member of a team on various projects.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
