Earth Science Division Highlights for week ending July 25, 2007
British Petroleum and SGE researchers to partner pipeline inspection program .
Five representatives from British Petroleum (BP) North America visited Ames, July 16-18, to discuss a partnership with NASA Ames and the Department of Transportation in using Ames developed UAS technology in monitoring its network of oil and gas pipelines. Meetings and discussions produced Space Act Agreements that are now under review, as well as drafts of program plans and schedules. Meetings continued July 23-25 with BP program management to establish requirements for gas detection and intrusion detection subprojects within the pipeline inspection program. F. Freund elected to IUGG working group .
Friedemann Freund (SETI/SJSU) has been elected to serve on the Inter Association Working Group on Electromagnetic Studies of Earthquakes and Volcanoes (EMSEV) of the International Union of Geodesy and Gephysics (IUGG). (POC: Friedemann Freund, ffreund@mail.arc.nasa.gov , 4-5183)
